Anybody have a chance to check out this upgrade? It seems like Garmin ran
through a couple upgrades in quick succession: 3.91 and 4.0, both of which
apparently had problems. Did 4.1 fix them? Is it worth it to upgrade from
3.7?

There have been not just two but four crappy versions (you forgot
3.92 & 3.93, both beta, like 3.91). Very poor software development
and - seemingly - no software quality management at all. :o/

Most of them. Voice guidance is still not perfect but usable
(sometimes instructions are incomplete); few users reporting
inferior reception, but this is not proven and may depend on
satellite constellation, too; address search is worse cause
you have to scroll through all letters now even if there's no
matching entry; route calculation takes longer then before.

OTOH voice guidance is slightly improved (last hint will not be
e. g. 100 m ahead of the turn, but very close to the turn, thus
it's easier to drive w/o looking at the display); when leaving
the route, recalculation starts earlier; "Avoid Highways" and
"Custom Road Prefs" work better, i. e. more sensible, than before.

It depends. ;o) With regard to my very bad experiences with
3.91, 3.92 and 3.93 I've gone back to 3.70, waiting for 4.20.
Maybe 4.10 is indeed better than 3.70, but as I feel perfectly
fine with 3.70, I will not change my running system. Perhaps
4.20 gets better responses ...?

Suppose this was not very helpful - sorry, but that's it! ;o)

I was using my 276C today with 4.10 installed and several times it shut down
by itself for some reason. I thought it had quit working completely because
it would try to restart over and over again until finally it showed a
message that it was going to restart and to press a key so I did and it
seemed to work after that. I don't know if this has anything to do with 4.10
or not. Ha anyone else experienced this?
