TVNav do have good prices, but won't supply overseas customers as they
don't accept Paypal, credit cards or transfers. Makes it hard to do
business with them.

The current version is now City Navigator Australia NT 2009. You may
be entitled to a free upgrade, depending on when you bought/registered
it.
This is the one upgrade that IS currently available over here, still
waiting for the non-NT upgrade to arrive, as well as the non-upgrade
version.

So far the free upgrade is still not available via the Garmin website. I
have been keeping an eye out for for several weeks.

After a lot of 'phoning I got someone at Garmin US to admit that it does exist,
but isn't yet available in the US. I found the item number, 010-11151-00, on
the Johnny Appleseed web-site, and when I gave that to the Garmin customer
service person it gave her enough information to get the details from the
mapping department. I was offered a free upgrade, but it wouldn't be sent out
until after I left for Australia, so I've e-mailed Johnny Appleseed and they are
going to be sure they have a copy for me when I arrive in Brisbane.
So, it isn't on the web-site, but with some digging you can get an order
registered, to be sent whenever it arrives in the US.
The Garmin web-site is often out of touch with reality, and even with itself.
When I first bought the Australia maps it would take orders for $320US or
$149US, depending on which route you used to get to the "add to cart" link. I've
got the SP c530, which is discontinued (I think only c580 is still available
from Garmin itself), and when I ask what maps are available for it Australia
isn't even listed, even though it works just fine in mine.
Ah, the vagaries of large companies!
