I don't think it's easily done, if at all. But let's see what others

There may be an easier way, but here is one way.

Download GPSBabel (free)
In GE, Select "Save"/"save place as"/and select .kml as the file type.
Run GPSBabel and select the input format as Keyhole Markup Language
In the box input "file name", navigate to the file you saved as .kml and
select it
In the output format select ".GPX XML or Garmin Mapsource - gdb"
In the box output "file name", choose a file name and location.
Click on the "Apply" button.
If you have MapSource you can send it to your GPS in the .gdb format.
You can also download EasyGPS (free) and use it to send the track to your
GPS in the .gpx format.
If I remember correctly, MapSource has a problem reading the .gpx files
created in GPSbabel, but EasyGPS does not. But when you save the .gpx file
using EasyGPS, then MapSource will read it correctly.

Mapsource was reported to have a problem reading some gpx files posted on
the web, but using gpsbabel made them readable by Mapsource.
For example:
http://www.modernhiker.com/2006/12/18/mishe-mokwa-trail-to-tri-peaks-and-sandstone-peak/
Mapsource fails to read mishemokwa.gpx.
... gpx version="1.0" creator="GlobalMotion"
Converting to gdb works
gpsbabel -i gpx -f mishemokwa.gpx -o gdb -F mishemokwa.gdb
or passing through gpsbabel with no changes requested works
gpsbabel -i gpx -f mishemokwa.gpx -o gpx -F babel.mishemokwa.gpx

You can just use GPSBabel to output directly to the eTrex, no need for
any additional software.
