My 350 did that once or twice. I had to STOP the routing and start over. Did
you turn yours on and resume a route that was already in progress?

My 760 had it once. It happenend after I had to interrupt the startup
process because the loading wasn't finished even after 10 minutes. So I
interrupted the startup process by switching the nuvi off. Next time I
switched it on it looked all ok. Normal startup time. Could find its
position. But when I typed in a destination it gave the instructions in
a different language. So it looks asif a few bits were reset to
something different. And if those bits could have changed in the setup
other could also have changed. So I checked all setup items and found on
other one that was reset: not the fastest route but the shortest route
was set. That would give very long (in time) routes through very little
roads etc.
Perhaps the same happened in your case. After this (some months ago)
everything went ok.

Interestingly, my 760 did exactly the same thing about a year ago. One
time when I turned it on, it wasn't able to finish loading, so I
turned it off. When I turned it on again it was speaking in a
different language and some of the settings had changed. I walked
through all of the menus and straightened everything out, and no
problems since then.
