Thank you...but EEK!
Anything that isn't $250/yr. requiring program downloads.
Like a nice tidy list of markers sorted by coordinates, towns or highways?

I always accessed that data for free, but I signed up about 5 years
ago - last accessed data about 4 months ago - are they charging money
for new users now?

Nothing is a nice tidy list sorted the way YOU want it when it is from
a government web site, hahaha.

You can try this site
<http://www.holoscenes.com/special/geocac/ds_archive.html>
Sorted by state and county. Then use NGS»GPX to convert them.
<http://ngs.tsqmadness.com/>

Oh wait, you wanted Canada. Well, maybe this info can help someone else in
the U.S.A. I found it difficult and somewhat convoluted trying to use the
previous mentioned U.S. benchmark sources and BMGPX software. The above
program also puts the elevations into the POIs. (BMGPX does not, it seems.)
But the elevations don't seem to be visible from MapSource's allowable data
fields, though are visible in GSAK. I didn't load up any of the GPX files
into a GPS unit to see if the elevations were visible there.

Oh - one thing you might not know.

When you do get signed in and access some data, you must pay attention
to whether any given point is a "horizontal" benchmark or a "vertical"
benchmark. A point is usually one or the other - not both.

But all HB's seem to have an elevation ??? Howzat?

If the elevation given is rounded to the nearest 10 cms - ie it is
given as 123.400m, then it is an approximate elevation, and not to be
used as a terribly accurate elevation. But it probably is accurate to
the nearest 10 cms.

If it is given to the mm, ie 123.456m, then it is as accurate as you
are going to find, subject to the statement accompanying the benchmark
data.
