I just read an article on downloading an app to a GPS unit. The app
is PhantomALERT and the URL is:
http://www.baynews9.com/article/news/2011/march/213432/Drivers-get-help-to-avoid-red-light-cameras-and-costly-traffic-tickets
I am ready to upgrade my Garmin. Where do I go to determine what
Garmin products will support downloading apps?
Thanks.

You don't need any download apps to do that now--works with most any
Garmin and TomTom GPS units that accept POIs. I've been using this
*FREE* service, quite effectively, for the last several years now:

PhantomALERT is a paid subscription service--not worth it IMO.
