I still have a Streetpilot 2610 and use Mapsource to transfer
waypoints, routes, and mapsets to and from the unit. I was
considering moving up to the Nuvi 885T but it doesn't seem like it
comes with a Mapsource install disk. If you go to download Mapsource
from Garmin, it says it's an upgrade only and you need Mapsource pre-
installed first. Does anyone know if a) you can use it with the new
series and b) where to get the full version or if it comes with the
unit? It doesn't list it under 'in the box' on Garmin.

Thanks.

I also have the Streetpilot 2610. I have a Nuvi 255w and it did not
include the Map program disk or the MapSource disk but you can
continue using your Mapsource installed on your computer that came
with the Streetpilot 2610. You can also down load the new versions of
MapSource.

On my Nuvi 255w I cannot transfer routes to the Nuvi as it will not
store routes but I can transfer waypoints.
You can also transfer tracks from the Nuvi to MapSource and if you
have Google earth installed you can look at where you have been on
Google earth.
It is much easier to look at things on the big computer screen than on
the small GPS unit when you are looking up an address or a location on
the map. Of course you already know that since you have used it on
the 2610.

On thing I forgot. You will have older maps on your installed
MapSource than is on your new Nuvi.

The first time you update the maps for your Nuvi you can download them
to you computer and then transfer them to the Nuvi and than you will
have the same maps on both of them.

You can order the Mapsource CD from Garmin support once you have
registered the unit on their website and get mapsource with the maps
that are on your new Nuvi GPS receiver.
