Answering this for the eTrex Venture Cx, which I have here. I presume
the newer models will be similar.

Yes. I think the whole series does, including the old/most basic mdoels.

Mils - yes, gon - no.

> What data fields are supported by what model?

Lots. eg speed (current/max/average), odometer, accuracy, location,
elevation, heading, bearing, distance to next waypoint, time
(total/moving/stopped), time of day, sunrise/sunset. I think most eTrex
models will have all of those at least.
You can download the manuals for each model as PDFs, which have a list
of all of the data fields.

And yes, you can choose to display any of these on the trip computer
page, up to about 8 of them. So you could have position, heading and
odometer on one page if you want.

No.

Example from my eTrex looks something like this:
30V VJ 14629
MGRS 55061

I'm no expert on MGRS, but I presume the first line is northings, the
second easting?

Thanks Craig, exactly what I wanted to know! Almost right on the MGRS,
you read the easting value first, then the north one. A grid system
within a 10 000 m square.

I've downloaded some manuals but in the ones I got it's just mentioned
that you can change the data fields but no list of available options
are available. Perhaps I get redirected to another source since I live
outside USA? I've been looking on these fore example and for me nether
the English or Swedish version provide that info.

@Gene - Yes, MILS is actually a milli radian. It's not exactly though
cause instead of dividing a circle 6283 steps, you do it in 6400 in
the military. That's because 64 is an even power of 2 so you get
north, east, south, southwest with even numbers (in Sweden we used
6300 before, very unpractical ;) In all the sighting devices the real
value of 6283 is used though but when you use your compass for
precision it's for artillery and then that small error doesn't mean
anything.

@ps56k - Nope, no driving. eTrex was more interesting for a lot of
reasons but wanted to check these features before buying so I could
use it for all my need. If a page simultaneously can show location in
mgrs, distance traveled in meters and course heading that solves my
problem.

@pmh - How do you mean the grid is not displayed? Do you mean on your
map or that you can't get a data field to show it?

I do know what mils are...

I was not sure that you meant mils when you wrote MILS, so I decided to
ask, and I do appreciate that you informed me. I just wanted to be sure
that there was no acronym of another meaning unknown to me, like "Military
Instrumental Location System" or something :-)

Here's a military training page which is quite clear and makes it easy
to get the hang of MGRS/UTM coordinates.

http://www.google.com/url?sa=3DD&q=3Dhttp://www.armystudyguide.com/content/=
Prep_For_Basic_Training/Prep_for_basic_land_navigation/locate-a-point-using=
-the-.shtml&usg=3DAFQjCNG-CscEVfpXhEdCH4Iko3s7koOplg

You will find the UTM grids on any USGS 24,000 topo, the coordinates
are along the margins.. On my eTrex Legend HCX, the grid is not
displayed, but the UTM (my preference) coordinates are at the top of
the screen. It's usual format to list easting first, then northing.
