Looks like I'm going to end up buying the Colorado 300, plus the additional
city navigator street maps.

However, apparently I have a choice of these maps on a CD, or data card.

Someone please explain the pros and cons, like, what will one do the other
can't?

Thanks. Lee.

Briefly, the data card can be moved between different GPS, but can't be seen
on the computer, whereas the CD can be seen on the computer, but is locked
to a particular GPS (and you'll need to buy a data card to put it on).

Are you sure that the data card can be used on more than one GPS? Have
you done that or do you know someone who has? Doesn't make sense that
the one that was easiest to move between units would be the one that
WASN'T locked to a unit.

I have done that, same card between different Nüvi's and eTrex Legend
HCx

A very fast way to upgrade to new version, as it only takes a few
seconds to disable preloaded card, and put in the new SD card.

I'm with you. I can't believe that Garmin would allow cards being
transfered willy-nilly between units given their anal policies on maps.
