Hi I just ordered the never ex[ire North America to use on myNuvi
1490. When I try to download the map updater cancel the operation
with the message that "all the users do not have permission to use the
software and that I should sign in as administrator." That is how I
am signed in and there are no other users on authorized on my
machine. My system is Win7-64 bit.

I have spent several hours on hold with Garmin but can not get past
please hold for the next available representative.

Anyone know how to solve my issue?

Is that a legal copy? where did you buy it from?
I have Win7-64 and 1490T also, and was able to update the map just
fine as a 'user' not 'administrator' (but it did ask for your admin
password).

I would try it again on another machine.

I set no administrator password. Maybe if I set one up and restarted
and signed in with my password it would work?

I bought it directly from Garmins web site. I received an email
confirming purchase with a link to download. The link took me back to
Garmin where I signed in, went to map update and the message was that
I owned the lifetime license and I was ready to download. I clicked
on download and received message "You are now ready to download and
run the Garmin Map Update Application." I chose download, then run--
message "Downloading map installer" Then I get the message that I
do not have sufficient privileges to download for all users of this
machine. Sign in as administrator and run again" I am
administrator.

O will try to run this on my small laptop to see if that works. Any
other ideas?.
