My Nuvi 250 records a track log.

I have worked with Garmin GPS receivers since the mid 90's starting
with the GPS 12, GPS 12XL, eTrex, GPS 76, GPS 76Cx. When the Garmin
Nuvi models first came out I was very disappointed that some of the
features I took to be standard GPS features were missing. Such as
uploading a route or recording a track log. :(
------

I also have an old GPS 12 that I use just for Geocaching...... point & go -
and a Nuvi 255 and 260 for the cars.

Ever GPS you listed - is an outdoors GPS - which would imply some kind of
path or route...

On the flip side -
try using any of those you listed in a car for turn by turn with street
names :)

You will have to fake a route on your 265.

Try the THE IDENTIFIER (The ZZ Technique): contained in article:

"YES VIRGINIA, THERE IS MORE THAN ONE VIA POINT AVAILABLE -- Sort
of ..."

Well -------
I guess that explains why I can't figger it out.
I am going to make a database of intermediate points (one will be
enough for each way).
If I make a point called Home2Work and one called Work2Home (for
example) -- I can jive it into taking the route I want it to take --
that will be fine. This is a good technique if you are driving from
LA to New York, and all you want to do is stay on the warm interstate
until the east coast -- even tho driving down I-80 might make more
sense. GPS's don't care if it is 20 below in Nebraska!

Seems kinda funny that my GPS that is a handheld will do everything
but the street navication sucks. The NUVI is amazingly smart -- I can
drive right past the waypoint, and it will figure out an alternate
before I get to the next street. The 60CS -- once you lost the trail
-- it is always trying to go back to the place where it got lost.

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR THE HELP
