If you enter an unlock code generated for Australian version 7
it WILL unlock the maps in Mapsource.

If the code is also correctly generated for your Nuvi S/N it
WILL work in your Nuvi. Therefore the code you are entering
is NOT the correct version 7 unlock code. If you enter your old
version 6 code, Mapsource may say the maps are unlocked because
it matches your version 6 maps but the version 7 maps will still be locked.
It appears you have not generated a new unlock code yet.

I dont know who you spoke to but the Australian distributor will NOT
send you to Garmin in the USA for help. The Australian distributor is
GME and they have their own specilaised support team who deal
with customer unlock problems like this over the phone or by email. Perhaps
you spoke to one of the retailers instead. They are usually manned by
unskilled sales persons who dont know one end of a GPS from another.
Contact GME in Sydney for support and they will guide you through your
problem on the phone.

There is NO problem with the v7 upgrade. Simply ask GME for help if
you are having problems and they will show you where you went wrong.
Thousands of other customers manage to unlock their maps successfully
without assistance from anyone but some customers seem to get tangled up.
