Quoting from the article:
"Ms. Rosenberg clearly had more faith in the beta-version of a computer
algorithm humming in the depths of some Google server in California than
she did in her own common sense".
Whose common sense would *you* trust? :-)

Damn good point, Gene. Some people are just too freakin' dumb to live.
Hopefully the Court will not attempt to overturn Darwin's law of
survival of the fittest.

The big loser, here, will be the attorney who took the lawsuit. In
this situation, 99% of the blame will be on the plaintiff, and 1% on
Google. Suppose the settlement is for $75000. Google would have to pay
$750 of which Rosenburg would get $450 (60%) and the Attorney $300.
This is either one cheap attorney or a very stupid one. In fact,
Google will probably give him $100 to go away and that will be the end
of it. Rosenberg will probably get nothing.

I agree that the woman must have been kinda stupid to walk along an
expressway, whatever.
But I feel it necessary to point out that Google's disclaimer "Walking
directions are in Beta" is substantially deficient in providing an
adequate warning in plain language.
I mean, what the fuck does "in Beta" really mean anyway?
I know it - you know it - but will the court agree that Ms.
Rosendiddly should have known it?
I doubt it!
