in your original posting,
you implied that your suggestion was helping to acquire the sats faster.....
which is not true -

on some GPS models - like my old trusty GPS 12 -
there is an INIT menu that can be used to "help" the GPS
figure out where in the world it is located... for faster sat acquisition.
This is not the same as "simulating" a location on the nav screen.

I did nothing of the sort. I said you can set your precise location. I said
nothing
about locating satellites.
