Has anyone here had experience with refurbished Garmins?

I purchased a 1450 Garmin Nuvi today from Amazon. Reviews from Amazon's
site on the unit reported great performance, etc. However, after my
purchase, I wonder about the U.S. map included. Would this be an old,
outdated map (since it's basically a "used" unit) or would the Garmin
"factory refurbished" unit have the current maps on them? Or.....

.... is it possible that Garmin will allow a one-time download of the
current maps on refurbished units? Please comment. Thanks.

Note: after I get the unit, I'll be back for some really lame newbie
questions about using MapSource (if necessary) and/or other ways to use
the 1450!!

BTW -
Here's a comparison between the 1350 vs the 1450
http://www.gpsdemoreviews.com/2009/12/compare-garmin-nuvi-1350-vs-1450/

One of the features that I'd like to play with is the "routes",
but not really wanting the larger screen, heavier, and shorter battery life.

I have bought a Garmin factory refurbished unit from Amazon. It had the
latest map from the date of refurbishment, and checking the Garmin site
after I got it home, I was eligible for a free updated map.

Same here with a Nuvi 1490T. No problems have surfaced since May 2010.

Ditto in the UK with a refubished nuvi 660FM in 2008. Also eligible
for a free map update. No problems so far...
