My wife got a new job that will have her driving to 4-5 houses in a 2
county area each day, so she decided she needed a GPS.
I guess we waited just long enough to have a choice in the 5" screen &
voice commands department.
I hemmed and hawed over the Tomtom 2505 & the Garmin 2460 and finally
decided I'd get the Garmin today. Ordered from Crutchfield.
Multiple waypoints, ability to exclude areas, more POIs and the
ability to add them, no apparent software problems, and a more active
Usenet group were all factors that went in Garmin's favor.
I liked TomTom's internal forums-- and I could have saved a few bucks
with the TomTom-- but they seemed to have rushed release ahead of the
software being ready-- and the inability to have multiple waypoints
was the last straw.
My dream voice [for *her*] is Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow.
These folks have a parody-- but IMO it isn't all that good. [the Sean
Connery ain't bad]

I looked on Navtones, too and didn't see anything. Is there another
site or source for voices? She may just fall in love with what
comes from the factory-- but she's got a thing for Cap'n Jack. . .
I should have it tomorrow-- anything I should know before I play with
my first GPS?
Oh-- this should be in the paperwork, but in the real world-- Should I
be getting a SD card, or should internal memory be enough for now?
[and if I should get a card-- should I give up my 16GB that is in my
MP3 player & get that 32GB for the MP3 player?]
