Just a heads up to interested parties. Been keeping an eye out for a 2nd
1490T for the wife. Got notified by Amazon this morning they were in stock
for $200. Just wanted to pass that along.

"Refurbs" = overstocked new units at Garmin at the end of the quarter,
sold off cheap to favoured dealers to make the accounts look OK,
allegedly

Take a look around at the so called "factory outlet" stores that sell
discounted refurbished appliances and power tools. They mark them
refurbished so they can sell them cheap and the full priced retailer up the
street can't complain. If a manufacturer truly made that many rejects, they
would be out of business.

Another source of "refurb" units is people that buy the things, can't
figure out how to make 'em work, and return them to retailers that don't
want to bother with their own "open box" returns. Those *might well*
have turned on and already gotten a fix, so keep the invoice/receipt
handy.
